At 19, Sherrie moved to upstate New York to attend The Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation, she relocated to Chicago to work under renowned pastry chef, Gale Gand at her restaurant, Tru. Next, Sherrie spent two years expanding her knowledge of food and technique at the world famous Charlie Trotters where she became the assistant pastry chef. From there, Sherrie joined the team at the Peninsula Hotel as a lead pastry chef managing several departments including banquets. Seeking a change of pace and new challenges, Sherrie arrived at Sweet Mandy B's in 2009 as a cake decorator. With her incredible talent and attention to details, she quickly excelled and in 2011 was made head baker. In 2013 Sherrie's creation of the "Bunch a Crunch Birthday Bar" won the grand prize gold medal in a competition sponsored by Nestle's to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary. As a result she was featured on NBC's television program Extra! hosted by Mario Lopez. You can follow her foodie adventures here on Instagram!
